The Operations Manager reports to the Regional General Manager. The Operations Manager runs all operations of the warehouse, primarily focused on the Shipping, Receiving and Short Order Departments. Position also ensures that orders are accurately selected and ready for loading at the proper time. The Operations Manager also manages the employees of the shift in a safe, efficient and effective manner and handles any immediate problems that may arise.
II. Essential Job Functions:

Motivates order selectors, loaders, and short order selectors
- Organizes the workflow of employees on respective shift.
- Assigns and monitor tasks through the use of computers and scanners.
- Assures safe work practices
- Handles immediate disciplinary incidents

Enforces Company policies and procedures

Documents Worker’s Compensation incidents

Trains new hires

Manages shift time sheets via Paycom

Provides proper warehouse documentation as needed

Conducts performance reviews in a timely manner.

Handles product discrepancies/shortages/other problems

Meets productivity output standards for the shift

Responsible for the cleanliness of the warehouse
- Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Manages returns desk
Confirms staffing associate hours
III. Additional Job Functions:

Participates in operations meeting when required.

Reviews the performance of subordinates

Liaisons with different departments, i.e. Shipping, Receiving, Purchasing, Sales, Maintenance, Dispatch, Transportation

Assists with planning and implementing of processing plant improvements and expansions.

IV. Working Conditions/Job Environment:

Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position:

Minimum lift requirement 50-60 lbs on a regular basis

Requires repeated stooping and bending

Frequent lifting and carrying of boxed/bagged fruits and vegetables

Requires continuous standing for extended periods of time

Frequently requires riding a motorized, stand-on pallet jack
Environmental conditions (physical surroundings and hazards) usually associated with this position:
- Working in a 45-degree (F) processing area for 8-10 hours on a daily basis
- Working in a damp environment 8-10 hours on a daily basis
- Moderately noisy environment
VII. Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Food Science, Agriculture
Experience:
- 5 Years experience in the management of produce warehousing and shipping with multiple shifts.
Knowledge:
- Change Management, SQF Program, Produce Pro Software
Skills and Abilities:
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills in multiple languages – English, Spanish.
- Ability to take an idea from conception to execution
