Warehouse Person

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Perform all functions related to the receipt, storage, documentation, order picking and shipment of product at the Distribution warehouse. This position will report on 2nd shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Clearly indicate on a paper pick ticket numeric, alpha-numeric, & alphabetic changes to a document.
• Read and follow special instructions outlined on the picking document.
• Verify all products, quantities, lot numbers, and serial numbers are correct
• The use of hand held bar code scanners
• Box product, ensuring that all packaging is secure and safe
• Verify all required shipping documents are provided and attached.
• Follow work instructions to pick, pack, label, & document the movement of product in the distribution process.
• Band and/or shrink wrap pallet(s)
• Weigh pallet(s)
• Weight package(s)
• Safe movement and staging of product in the distribution process using PIT, overhead hoists, or team efforts.
• The use of UPS World Ship and FDEG Pacel shipping software.
• The ability to become certified under 49CFR Hazmat Training.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Continual standing, sitting and walking depending on job assignment.
• Frequent pushing, pulling and bending
• Continual lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Frequent lifting of 50 to 80 pounds
• Occasional lifting of up to 95 pounds
• Movement of large reels and 55 gallon drums by hand

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Attention to detail
• Reading and clear hand writing
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interact with others

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 to 3 years' warehouse or factory experience (preferred)
• Prior sit down forklift experience, stand up reach truck, and order picker experience (preferred)

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• Forklift, high lift or other lift truck certification (preferred)

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

• QAD Software data entry, hand held scanners, printers, calculators, & scales both weight and piece count.
• UPS Worldship and FDEG Parcel software.
