Position Summary The Regional Line-Haul Dispatcher is responsible for daily Line-Haul Line-Haul transportation scheduling, routing, and operational coordination within the assigned region HUB. This role ensures on-time departures, delivery performance, and real-time communication between warehouse operations, carriers, and the national fleet team. The dispatcher will play a key role in balancing service quality, cost efficiency, and resource utilization across regional and national networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Dispatch & Operations Management-

Plan and execute daily dispatch schedules for line-haul and feeder routes within the assigned region.

Monitor driver check-in, loading, departure, and arrival status; address any in-transit issues such as delays, vehicle swaps, or accidents.

Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth loading/unloading and minimize dock congestion.
- Capacity Coordination & Carrier Management

Collaborate with the Fleet Department to allocate available capacity, including primary, backup, and emergency carriers.

Track carrier performance (on-time rate, communication response, cargo handling, etc.) and provide feedback for performance evaluation and penalty/reward recommendations.

Support new carrier on boarding, contract execution, and payment documentation.
- Exception Handling & Communication

Log and handle first-level operational exceptions such as shipment delays, damages, or driver no-shows.

Escalate severe or recurring issues to the Fleet Department with detailed event reports.

Coordinate with customer service and warehouse teams to ensure timely issue resolution and client communication.
- System & Data Management

Use the company’s TMS or dispatching platform for job assignment, GPS tracking, and data entry.

Generate daily/weekly operational reports and route performance summaries.
- Verify shipment and delivery data with finance for billing and payment reconciliation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration

Maintain effective communication with the warehouse, customer service, and finance teams.

Support seasonal operations, nationwide route adjustments, and urgent dispatch tasks as directed by the Fleet Department.

Requirements
**Education:**
Bachelor degree or above, preferably in Logistics, Transportation Management, or Supply Chain.
**Technical Skills:**
- Proficiency in TMS, Excel, and GPS tracking tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Familiarity with U.S. interstate routes (e.g., I-5, I-10, I-80) preferred.
**Personal Attributes:**
- Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Able to handle high-pressure situations and shift priorities quickly.
- Willing to work night or weekend shifts during peak seasons
