Job Summary

The Warehouse Superintendent is to coordinate all warehouse activities. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing staffing, ordering, receiving, supervising, inventory management, and shipping. Your expertise in warehouse operations and your strong leadership skills will contribute to the smooth functioning of our facility.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage full and part-time staff, including scheduling, assignments, performance monitoring, and training.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, health and safety, quality control (Shell DPQA), and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements (IMO, CFR49, IATA), advising management on necessary actions.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and providing to the logistics team.
  • Maintain good inventory practices by ensuring goods and materials, or inventory, are managed in accordance with company procedures including: timely receipt of inbound, transfers are prepared efficiently and on schedule, and sales orders picked.
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing design layouts/improvements, ensuring cleanliness, inspecting equipment, and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Foster professional working relationships between Sales, Logistics, Maintenance, Management, HR, and Carriers.
  • Administer warehouse operations and maintenance within planned budget guidance.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure CDL Driver compliance according to state and federal regulations and adhere to all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), including the company's drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Ensure trucks are dispatched for efficient deliveries.
  • Maintain the warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the job.
  • Lead and participate in safety meetings, report all injuries, spills, and property damage, and identify and communicate job hazards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; and at least five years' experience in packaged lubricants warehouse operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
