Job Summary:

As a Warehouse Driver at D & M Traffic Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of traffic management equipment and materials between warehouses, construction sites, and client locations. Your responsibilities will include safely operating delivery vehicles, loading and unloading equipment including strapping or tying down equipment on truck beds, planning optimal routes, and providing exceptional customer service. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation including obtaining electronic signatures using the iPads provided, adhering to all safety regulations, and collaborating effectively with team members to support overall operational success. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Transportation of Goods: Safely and efficiently transport traffic management equipment, signage, and materials between designated locations, including warehouses, construction sites, and client premises.

- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the appropriate personnel.

- Loading and Unloading: Properly load and unload traffic management equipment onto and from delivery vehicles, ensuring that all items are secured and accounted for to prevent damage or loss during transit.

- Route Planning: Plan and follow optimal routes for delivery and pickup assignments to minimize travel time and ensure timely completion of tasks. Utilize GPS navigation systems and knowledge of local roadways to navigate efficiently.

- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating delivery vehicles. Maintain a clean driving record and ensure that all necessary licenses and certifications are up to date.

- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional service to clients and colleagues during delivery and pickup activities. Address any customer inquiries or concerns promptly and escalate issues as needed to management.

- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Complete electronic delivery and pickup documentation accurately and legibly, including delivery manifests, pickup confirmations, and any required signatures. Maintain electronic organized records of all deliveries and pickups for accountability and auditing purposes.

- Safety Awareness: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. This includes proper handling of equipment, adherence to safety guidelines during loading and unloading, and awareness of potential hazards on the road. Staying up to date in SiteDocs with all safety training documentation and HR policies.

- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other team members to coordinate delivery and pickup schedules, communicate any changes or delays, and support overall operational efficiency.

- Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond calmly and responsibly in the event of emergencies or unexpected situations on the road, such as accidents, breakdowns, or inclement weather conditions. Follow company protocols for reporting incidents and seeking assistance as needed.

- Professional Development: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to transportation and logistics. Take advantage of training opportunities provided by the company to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role of a delivery and pickup driver.

Job Qualifications:

- Valid Driver's License: Hold a clean and valid driver's license. A commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required.

- Physical Fitness: Capable of lifting heavy objects and performing physically demanding tasks.

- Safety Awareness: Commitment to adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.

- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
