POSITION SUMMARY:
The Warehouse/Inventory Manager is a hands-on position in all aspects of logistics, warehouse, and inventory control. This position should provide overall coordination and direction for the accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions and develop and implement strategies to manage material levels appropriately. Must have a team-oriented approach to achieve and maintain excellent inventory accuracy through direct communication with both internal and external customers.
KEY DUTIES:
- Develop and train fulfillment team members to assure compliance with all procedures, OSHA safety rules and proper equipment usage/certification,
- Develop and report key performance indicators (KPI’s) as required for inventory, warehouse activities, and logistics.
- Develop and train standard operating procedures, work instructions, work aids, and company policies.
- Work closely with management team to ensure accuracy of inventory levels.
- Manage commodity releases and logistics for delivery of commodities from port, rail, or warehouse.
- Manage schedules for pick-up appointments for outgoing product and delivery appointments of incoming product.
- Responsible for accurate controls, procedures, coordination, reconciling cycle count operations and physical inventories.
- Help develop target inventory levels for raw materials and finished products with the corporate purchaser.
- Work closely with accounting to maintain appropriate inventory levels and control of inventory assets.
- Analyze inventory to identify excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory and oversee disposition.
- Lead cross-functional inventory records accuracy team and participate on other project teams as required.
- Prepare and maintain policies, procedures, and working instructions for inventory control systems.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work with all levels within our company and establish a solid rapport with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and/or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations in support of a high-volume fulfillment operation.
- Proactively prioritize workflow and daily schedules and manage all functions of our warehouse to include (but not limited to): order picking, loading and unloading trucks, quality checking orders, preparing records of shipments and bills of lading, posting transfers, receiving documents, warehouse cleanliness and UPS/FedEx shipments.
- Perform self audits on departmental processes and procedures to ensure accuracy of work being performed.
- Direct cycle and ABC counting for proper inventory control.
- Root cause analysis on discrepancies to prevent future issues.
- Utilize Great Plains, Excel, Word and any other required business systems.
- Manage a staff of 7+ direct reports to include onboarding, training and performance evaluations.
- Manage and oversee all logistics and carrier relations.
- Manage warehouse/inventory budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION SKILL/COMPETENCY:
- Must be a highly self-motivated individual who possesses strong leadership and communication skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, accuracy, problem solving ability.
- Physical Demands: While performing the regular duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Strong problem-solving skills to include root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical skills
- High proficiency in MS Excel
- Experience in a manufacturing/production environment
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Microsoft Product suite experience is a must
- Minimum of 10 years experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and solid analytical skills in logistics and warehouse activities.
- Experience in a food related environment is a plus
- Great Plains software is a plus
- Bachelors Degree in a business related discipline is preferred
