The Waste Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of waste collection, transportation, and disposal activities. The role ensures efficient service delivery, compliance with environmental regulations, and effective management of staff, equipment, and resources to maintain high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Oversee daily waste collection, transportation, and disposal operations
- Ensure routes, schedules, and services are executed efficiently
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements
2. Team Management
- Supervise drivers, collectors, and operational staff
- Plan manpower allocation and work schedules
- Provide training and ensure adherence to company policies
3. Fleet & Equipment Management
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs
- Monitor fuel usage and operational efficiency
4. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and safety standards
- Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures
- Conduct safety inspections and incident investigations
5. Client & Contract Management
- Coordinate with clients to ensure service satisfaction
- Handle complaints and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor contract performance and service delivery standards
6. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage operational budgets
- Monitor expenses and optimize operational costs
- Control overtime, fuel, and maintenance costs
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
- Maintain records of waste collection, disposal, and fleet usage
- Ensure proper documentation for compliance and audits
