The Waste Profile Coordinator is responsible for accurate characterization, documentation, and management of waste streams in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role ensures proper classification, profiling, and approval of waste materials for transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal.
Key Responsibilities
- Waste Profiling & Characterization
- Develop and maintain waste profiles for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams
- Review analytical data (e.g., lab reports) to determine proper waste classification
- Ensure waste profiles meet facility acceptance criteria
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulations such as RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act), DOT, EPA, and state-specific requirements
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and inspections
- Track waste codes, manifests, and land disposal restriction (LDR) documentation
- Documentation & Data Management
- Enter and maintain waste profile data in internal systems
- Prepare and review shipping papers, manifests, and profile approvals
- Coordinate with labs, generators, and disposal facilities
- Customer / Internal Coordination
- Work with clients or internal departments to gather waste information
- Communicate discrepancies or missing data and resolve issues
- Provide guidance on waste packaging, labeling, and compliance
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve waste handling, reduce costs, and enhance compliance
- Support audits, inspections, and corrective actions

Required Eligibility Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or hazardous materials handling
- Strong understanding of hazardous waste regulations (RCRA preferred)
- Ability to interpret laboratory data and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- This position may require working in both an office and field environment, with regular visits to waste management sites such as landfills, recycling centers, and waste processing facilities.
- Occasional travel may be required to meet with external partners or attend industry conferences.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
- The noise level in the work environment is elevated at times
- Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings, and weekends as business demands.
Hours of Work
- Typical week will consist of Monday – Friday, 8-10 hours per day
Travel
- Some travel may be required to visit client sites, company locations, conferences, and meetings.
