Job Overview
Join our team as a full-time Waste & Recycling Technician, where your energy and expertise will drive on-campus waste management solutions. In this vital role, you will operate various equipment to collect, load, and transport waste and recyclable materials efficiently and safely. Your proactive approach will help maintain environmental standards while supporting our commitment to community cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

• Collect trash from various outdoor receptacles and monitor campus dumpsters
• Manage cardboard recycling including the operation of cardboard compactor.
• Monitor grounds for litter and pick-up waste as needed
• Load and unload materials safely using manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Follow all safety protocols during collection routes, including heavy lifting procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely collection schedules and efficient route completion.
• Occasionally provide janitorial coverage by cleaning interior bathrooms, floors, and common areas.
• Occasionally support Forge facilities team on campus incident issues.

Skills:

• Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in all weather conditions.
• Excellent driving record with experience in delivery or waste collection routes.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation, waste handling, and environmental compliance.
