Water hygiene engineer / Plumber

Water Hygiene Technician – Vacancy

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Water Hygiene Technician to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role working across a variety of commercial and industrial sites, delivering high-quality water hygiene and treatment services.

Location: Ideally based in or around Swindon, Reading, or Slough

Coverage: National travel required

Role Responsibilities

  • Routine water hygiene tasks in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274
  • Cold water storage tank inspections, cleaning & disinfection
  • Tank and system disinfections (including chlorination works)
  • Temperature monitoring, sampling & reporting
  • TMV servicing and general system checks
  • Closed system cleans, dosing and analysis
  • Servicing and maintenance of water softeners and reverse osmosis (RO) systems
  • Maintaining accurate records using job management systems

Key Experience (Preferred)

  • Strong background in water hygiene
  • Experience with water softeners and RO systems (installation, servicing, fault finding)
  • Experience with tank disinfections and closed system works
  • Basic understanding of pumps/booster sets (advantage but not essential)

Requirements

  • Previous experience in water hygiene (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good understanding of compliance and safe systems of work
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally stay away
  • Strong communication and reporting skills
