Water Truck Driver (non-CDL) for Quarry

American Asphalt Paving Co. and Wilkes-Barre Materials, LLC are seeking experienced WATER TRUCK DRIVERS for our quarries in Shavertown, PA and in Plains, PA.

Responsibilities:

• The primary responsibility of the position is to operate the water truck to keep the quarry, plant and access roadways watered and free from dust.
• Maintain water truck and conduct daily pre-shift/post-shift equipment & safety inspections. Fill water truck as needed.

When not operating the water truck, the successful candidate will serve as a Grounds/Maintenance person.

• Maintain the quarry plant by performing routine maintenance and general servicing on plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors and screens.
• Perform plant clean up duties in and around the quarry plant.
• Complete applicable paperwork and maintain maintenance logs.
• Identify and perform equipment repairs utilizing strong mechanical ability.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Skills and Experience:

• The position requires a valid PA Driver's License (Class C), and a clean driving record.
• Must be willing and available to work overtime when necessary, including weekend work, particularly during the April to November peak season.
• Must have a strong commitment to safety.
• Capable of working outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions.
• Prefer candidates with a working knowledge of quarry operations.
• Have experience in, or the willingness to learn how to operate other pieces of heavy equipment (such as a 35-50 Ton articulated haul truck, excavator, dozer, skid steer, man lift, etc.)
• Ability to work in high and/or confined spaces for ground-maintenance work. Welding experience a plus. Have the ability to lift 50-pounds.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test, and be willing to submit to, and pass, random drug/alcohol testing.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
• Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
