Water/Wastewater Facilities - Project Engineer

Our Water/Wastewater team has a need for a Project Engineer (PE) to join their team. Works under the direct supervision of W/WW Sr. Project Manager and will have the opportunity to develop skills in plan production, report preparation, design, plans and specifications, construction observation, construction administration, leadership, and personal/career development.

What you will do:

• Performs civil engineering design calculations; develops construction plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software; and prepares construction specifications, feasibility studies, and other technical reports for infrastructure projects.
• This position will focus especially on water and wastewater facilities, including pump stations, sewage treatment plants, and water treatment plants.
• Other infrastructure projects that the candidate may be assigned to include large and small-diameter transmission waterlines, sanitary sewers, stormwater management modeling and design, storm sewer design, roadway design and modeling, and ditch and channel design.
• Skilled use of AutoCAD Civil 3D software is preferred but not required for initial hiring. Ongoing learning and training in AutoCAD Civil 3D will be provided as on-the-job training.
• Works within a team to produce engineering calculations, documentation, and plan sheet production to achieve our client’s goals and objectives while meeting schedules and budget requirements.
• Produce quantity take-offs (QTO), cost estimates, and construction management support for projects in the construction phase.
• Manage budget and hours to develop designs and plans that achieve our client’s goals and objectives while meeting schedule commitments and budget requirements.
• Represent the Company in client meetings.
• Represent the Company in professional, civic, and political organizations and activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• An undergraduate or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Texas EIT Certification or Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas.
• Five (5) years of related experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D software.
• Experience with GIS software.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize projects.
• Ability to learn local and state design standards and procedures.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Adapt new concepts quickly while working under pressure.
