Purpose and Objectives for the Role

The Web & App Product Specialist facilitates the delivery and ongoing optimisation of Big Ticket's digital platforms, with a specific focus on native mobile apps. This role acts as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the product roadmap is executed efficiently.

Instead of defining high-level strategy, the Product Specialists focuses on tactical delivery, managing the daily workflow, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that development priorities align with business goals. The role champions a user-centric approach, ensuring that new features and functional updates are delivered to a high standard.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the E-commerce Channel Manager to deliver the agreed product roadmap. Focus on the practical execution of features, ensuring projects move from the planning stage to release without friction.
  • Maintain a healthy product backlog by organising and prioritising tasks. While not solely responsible for authoring complex Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), the Product Specialist provides critical input to requirements, ensuring developers have the context and clarity needed to execute work without ambiguity.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for external development partners and internal stakeholders. Monitor timelines and manage the flow of information to ensure that bugs, features, and technical tasks are addressed in the correct order.
  • Coordinate the integration of key technical projects and user journey enhancements. Work with technical teams to ensure smooth implementation of platform updates, functional improvements, and third-party integrations.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the mobile app and web experience. Assist in running A/B tests on UI/UX elements and use performance data to suggest practical improvements to the customer journey.
  • Oversee the quality of releases by coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and verifying that delivered work meets the agreed success criteria before launch.

Skills Required

  • Proven experience in a Product or Digital Delivery role, with exposure to both web and mobile app environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage backlogs, support sprint cycles, and keep delivery tracks moving.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and trade-offs, allowing for effective communication with developers and vendors (without needing to be a technical expert).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to act as a bridge between commercial teams and technical vendors.
  • Comfortable using tools like GA4 or similar to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, marketing, or a related field.
  • Product certification (CSPO, PSPO) is highly desirable.
