Purpose of Role

Responsible for developing and optimizing educational content that strengthens Finance of America’s digital presence and drives customer engagement throughout the marketing funnel. Ensures all content is strategically crafted to align with search intent, maintain brand consistency, meet compliance standards, and convert readers into qualified leads through data-informed storytelling and SEO best practices.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Writes and optimizes educational articles that drive organic traffic and conversions for top-of-funnel awareness through decision-stage content.
  • Conducts keyword and intent research to inform topic selection, content outlines, and on-page SEO optimization.
  • Develops compelling headlines, metadata, internal links, and calls-to-action that maximize readability and performance.
  • Maintains brand voice, tone, and messaging consistency while ensuring all content meets compliance, accuracy, and E-E-A-T guidelines.
  • Monitors rankings, traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics; use data insights to iterate on content and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Provides copy and content support to optimize and launch MOFU/BOFU landing pages.
  • Collaborates with SEO, product, and design teams to create cohesive, integrated web experiences.
  • Ideates new content concepts and actively contribute to evolving Finance of America's content marketing strategy.
  • Assists content team in managing the content calendars, briefs, and documentation to scale publishing efficiently and meet agreed timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Reports To

  • Director, Organic Growth

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in educational web content writing, data-driven content strategy, or equivalent demonstrated success.
  • Deep knowledge of the financial services industry with proven experience writing B2C finance content preferred.
  • Expertise in SEO and AEO best practices, including content development and optimization aimed at boosting brand visibility in Google’s AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, and other LLMs.
  • Demonstrated ability to create authoritative, evergreen long-form content that improves organic search visibility and drives top-of-funnel lead generation.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in both optimizing existing content and developing new strategic articles using data-driven insights.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to assess effort, plan ahead, and deliver to timelines.
  • Highly independent and comfortable working autonomously through ambiguity and in seeking leadership support to remove roadblocks.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is ($77,000 - $115,400 inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
