St. Johns Shipbuilding is seeking an innovative Web Designer with strong 3D animation skills to help modernize and elevate our shipbuilding company’s digital presence. This role focuses on transforming complex engineering, construction, and vessel concepts into visually engaging and interactive web experiences that showcase our capabilities, craftsmanship, and advanced technology.
This is not a full-time position; This is a ON- SITE Freelance/Project based web designer.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a modern, responsive website highlighting shipbuilding services and vessels.
- Create 3D models, animations, and interactive elements to demonstrate ship layouts, components, and production processes.
- Implement 3D content using Three.js, WebGL, Babylon.js, or similar frameworks.
- Develop animated hero sections, product displays, and immersive shipbuilding visualizations.
- Optimize 3D assets for fast load times and smooth device performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to turn technical concepts into engaging visuals.
- Ensure all designs align with branding and support a high-tech, modern look.
- Stay updated on web, motion, and 3D design trends relevant to industrial industries.
Requirements:
- Experience in web design and front-end development.
- Strong portfolio featuring 3D animation or interactive technical web content.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Skilled in 3D tools such as Blender, Cinema 4D, or Maya.
- Knowledge of WebGL, Three.js, and GLB/gLTF asset workflows.
- Ability to simplify and visualize complex shipbuilding concepts.
- Strong foundation in layout, motion, and user-centered design.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or maritime industries.
- UI/UX background for intuitive navigation of technical content.
- Motion graphics or video editing experience.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, Webflow, or custom systems).
