Description

This position will develop web content for the college website and/or social media platforms.

Examples of Duties

  • Maintains and enhances New College of Florida’s overall web presence, including NCF.edu and the NCF Intranet within a collaborative, mission-driven Communications and Marketing team environment., Both platforms require knowledge and ability to work with WordPress. Applies the College’s brand identity to all aspects of web and social media properties, including external sites managed for New College programs by third parties. Maintaining pages includes content updates (photos, videos, and written content) on pages. Keep the faculty/staff directory up to date; ensure when new employees are added that accurate phone and email contact information is included. Oversee integration of any content hosted outside the site into the site (ex. academic catalog).
  • Manages Accessibility for the College website. Conducts Accessibility audits for web content and documents. Sits on the Accessibility committee of the College.
  • Compiles data, develops and maintains online presence for major College publications (including Catalog, Curriculum Schedule, and Student Handbook). Creates and implements web-related process efficiencies and design college-wide. Works with divisions, departments and programs to enhance content, design and features for web pages. Creating event pages for all publicly noticed meetings. Updating BOT page, including the posting of all agendas, packets, and other materials relating to public meetings. Maintains/Develops the college virtual tour.
  • Resolve errors and issues (ex. Wordpress update disrupts link destinations or disables directory). Serve as the main point of contact to IT for NCF network issues.
  • Maintains website video gallery and platform, and related social media video channels such as YouTube. Supports social media and multimedia content creation by contributing at each step from team-brainstorming sessions and conceptualization through final publication on the web.
  • Uses Google Analytics and other tools to continually monitor usage and effectiveness of College’s online activities and adjusts or recommends improvements, accordingly.
  • Supports cross-functional Communications and Marketing needs when required, such as light graphic updates, basic content edits, uploading media, social media assistance, or other tasks aligned with mission-critical deadlines.
  • Utilizes emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence when appropriate, to complete assigned work efficiently and responsibly.
  • Requires schedule flexibility, including occasional nights or weekends, to meet mission-critical deadlines, major events, or urgent campus needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Web Design, Multimedia, or related field. Experience working with WordPress required.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of full-time or equivalent experience designing/developing WordPress websites and social media integration; Experience managing a large institutional website or higher education website; Experience working in a marketing environment; Experience with publishing content on social media platforms.
