Web Designer & Social Media Specialist Position at MKP Technologies

The Web Designer and Social Media Specialist have a key role in shaping the online presence of our children’s publishing brand. The ideal candidate will create visually appealing website content, implement digital marketing strategies, and build meaningful connections with readers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, update, and maintain the company website to ensure engaging, user-friendly, and brand-consistent experience.
• Create landing pages, banners, and promotional graphics to support book launches, author events, and seasonal campaigns.
• Collaborate with the marketing and editorial teams to ensure content accuracy, accessibility, and strong visual storytelling.
• Optimize web pages for mobile devices, SEO, and user experience.
• Manage digital assets including book cover images, author photos, and multimedia features.
• Coordinate with IT or external web developers on technical updates, security, and performance improvements.
• Support email marketing and newsletter design using web and social content assets.
• Stay current with trends in children’s publishing, literacy, and digital marketing to inspire fresh, relevant campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Web Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in web design, social media management, or digital marketing (preferably in publishing, children’s media, or creative industries).
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and web design platforms such as WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix.
• Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Later) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
• Strong understanding of SEO, content strategy, and responsive design principles.
• Excellent written communication and storytelling skills with an eye for visual aesthetics.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.
