About the Role

Ghost Engine Digital is looking for a web designer who can blend clean design, technical precision, and SEO-ready structure. If you think in wireframes, build in WordPress, and optimize with intent, you’ll fit right in.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build responsive, accessible websites using WordPress and Elementor
• Create page layouts aligned with modern UX patterns and clarity-driven design principles
• Implement SEO optimization best practices: metadata, schema, site speed, content structure
• Maintain and update existing client sites with consistency and brand accuracy
• Collaborate with strategy, content, and technical teams to ensure clean execution
• Troubleshoot plugins, theme conflicts, and layout issues
• Participate in iterative improvement cycles (clarity, performance, user experience)

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience designing and building WordPress websites
• Experience in Monday.com Project Management
• Experience in Slack Communication
• Expert-level Elementor skills (templates, responsive breakpoints, dynamic content)
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals: on-page optimization, hierarchy, internal linking
• Ability to design for clarity: intuitive navigation, scannable layouts, clean typography
• Experience optimizing Core Web Vitals (page speed, image optimization, caching)
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS (JS is a plus but not required)
• Portfolio demonstrating high-quality WordPress design work and problem-solving

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with WooCommerce
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools
• Background in conversion copy or behavioral design principles
• Comfort working in fast-moving creative/technical environments
