Jaynes is a leading general contractor known for quality craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and a people-first culture. To better showcase our work and strengthen connections with Owners, potential applicants, and our employee-owners, we’re seeking a Contract-to-Hire Web Developer to lead the migration of our website from WordPress to Webflow and support ongoing web development needs.
Status: Contract-to-Hire
Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

The Contract-to-Hire Web Developer will report to the Marketing Director and serve as the technical lead for migrating the Jaynes website from WordPress to Webflow. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys building elegant, functional web solutions and wants to contribute to an organization that values collaboration, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Successful performance during the contract phase may lead to a permanent position with the company.
Essential Functions
· Lead the migration of the Jaynes website from WordPress to Webflow, including planning, setup, data transfer, and testing.
· Develop, maintain, and optimize the Webflow site for performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across all devices.
· Design and build new pages, landing pages, or microsites as needed using Webflow.
· Ensure all web content follows SEO best practices and meets brand standards.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement content updates and new features.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as layout inconsistencies, broken links, or performance errors.
· Monitor and communicate site analytics to Marketing Director, provide recommendations, and implement improvements.
· Maintain consistency in design, tone, and user experience across the website.
· Perform other web-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Media, Communications, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in front-end web development and CMS management.
· Proven experience migrating sites from WordPress to Webflow (required).
· Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
· Familiarity with SEO principles and web accessibility standards.
· Experience with Google Analytics, SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs), and performance optimization.
· Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar) preferred.
· Excellent attention to detail, time management, and independent work capabilities.
· Spanish fluency (written and verbal) is advantageous but not required.

Contract-to-Hire Details
This is a contract position (up to 40 hours per week) with the potential to transition into a regular, part-time or full-time employee role based on performance, project outcomes, and organizational needs.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, this position may occasionally require the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds of paper, files, and/or equipment. This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time to enter data into multiple systems and conduct face-to-face meetings or interviews.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time non-union position. The scheduled hours are approximately 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options. Hours may be extended as required to execute the tasks assigned.
Travel
Travel is not required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Computer Science, or related field; five years of content strategy experience at an agency or in-house creative company; and at least three years of experience in web content creation and web development.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to a drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
2. Current and valid driver’s license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jaynes automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jaynes vehicle).
3. Must be eligible per Fleet Safety Management policy to operate a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for company purposes.
