About Ivory Innovations

​Ivory Innovations is both an operating foundation and an academic center based at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. Our mission is to catalyze high-impact innovations in housing affordability. We bridge research and industry to support cross-sector solutions, provide recognition and funding for groundbreaking ideas, engage a global student population, and contribute directly to the development of affordable housing in Utah.

About the Role

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web and Graphic Designer to join our communications / marketing team. This role will be responsible for shaping the visual identity of Ivory Innovations across both digital and print platforms. The ideal candidate has an interest in social impact or housing affordability and combines a strong design sensibility with skills in web design and brand storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Ivory Innovations’ website (built on Wix) and digital assets to ensure a cohesive brand look, SEO best practices, and a great user experience
  • Develop engaging visual content for reports, presentations, email newsletters, social media, events, printed items (e.g., team swag), and other communications opportunities
  • Collaborate with social media manager / content writer and program teams to support campaigns and storytelling initiatives
  • Manage and support backend marketing operations, analytics, and systems (e.g., organize assets in Google Drive or other platforms, set and track results against annual goals)
  • Assist with video editing, photo selection, and basic animation or motion graphics as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of professional web or graphic design experience
  • Proficiency in Wix and design platform of choice (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, UX/UI principles, and digital accessibility standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • A portfolio showcasing either or both web and print design work

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with video editing tools
  • Interest in housing, community development, or social innovation

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience
