Wedding Venue Maintenance Technician – Grounds & Facilities

The Chapel at Gruene is a wedding venue in New Braunfels, TX looking for an experienced, detail-driven Property & Grounds Technician to join our small, close-knit team. You'll work alongside our operations manager keeping our property immaculate — from colorful flower beds to facilities that look brand new at every event. You will also, at times, assist with event day support on wedding days.

This role is primarily based at The Chapel at Gruene, with one to two days per week supporting our new sister venue, The Chapel at Wimberley, located approximately 18 miles away.

What you'll be doing

• Maintain and beautify the grounds — mowing, pruning, mulching, and planting
• Perform painting, light carpentry, and minor repairs
• Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues as they arise
• Assist with wedding event setup and teardown
• Walk the property between events to ensure it's reset and guest-ready
• Keep all areas spotless and free of litter and debris
• Interact warmly and professionally with guests and vendors on event days
• Log completed work in our maintenance tracking system
• Travel between our two properties as needed — including same-day response when urgent issues arise at either venue
• Run occasional supply and materials errands (hardware stores, etc.) using your personal vehicle

What we're looking for

• A genuine eye for detail and pride in doing things right the first time
• Hands-on experience with maintenance, landscaping, or a related trade
• Comfort with power tools and basic mechanical troubleshooting (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, septic)
• Ability to work outdoors in Texas weather and handle physically active work throughout the day
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Friendly, can-do attitude when guests and couples are around
• Ability to work at least one weekend per month supporting weddings and occasionally nights to help post-wedding

The Chapel at Wimberley is our new sister venue, a ceremony-only property set in the Texas Hill Country. As we ramp up operations there, this role will play a key part in getting the property to the same high standard our guests expect.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
