Weekday Seasonal Retail Sales Associates - Orchard Store

The Allen’s Orchard shop is the starting point for all guests that come to visit. Our shop staff is the face of the orchard, so we need awesome people who can assist our guests. We will educate you about apples, and we ask that you bring A + customer service.

This position is typically scheduled weekdays Monday - Friday between 8:30am-5:30 pm, and is a seasonal position starting mid August to the end of October.

We are looking for amazing individuals who can work either full or part-time during the week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with field trips if needed
• Answer orchard phone calls during weekly hours of operation
• Maintain stock in shop and replenish stock as needed
• Ensure the orchard shop is organized - do what is necessary to make it look great
• Take incoming requests for products and events
• Greet and assist orchard guests with questions
• Assist bakery staff as needed
• Assist field trip teachers with clean-up process if needed
• Complete shop sales by running the POS system
• Assist with preparations for special events & field trips
• Cross/upsell products to guests
• Restock product
• Clean shop (dust, vacuum, sweep, clean, etc)
• Process cash, checks, credit card transactions
• Conduct all opening and closing procedures
• Maintain and clean restrooms
• Have a working knowledge of the orchard, the fruit we grow and sell and all the products in the shop and bakery
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Computer Skills

• Ability to successfully run the Orchard POS system and cash register software (i.e. Square)

Education and/or Experience

• Experience in retail work preferred
• Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience
• Ability to learn about the farm and apples specifically

Work Environment

• Will require long periods of standing
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• This position is an hourly position, salary commensurate with experience
• Dress is casual, Allen’s T-shirt must be worn while working
• Allen’s offers a 50% off discount to employees on bakery, fruit and apparel
