We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Weekend Charge/Supervisor – RN (Registered Nurse) / LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to lead our healthcare team during weekend shifts. This vital role involves overseeing patient care, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. <Duties>
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during weekend shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to facility policies.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs, and medication administration, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Ensure accurate medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Conduct physical examinations, monitor ventilator and airway management, and perform basic life support (BLS) as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, behavioral health management, and dementia or memory care strategies.
- Manage emergency situations by implementing acute pain management protocols and utilizing critical care skills in Level I Trauma Center-like scenarios.
- Provide training and supervision to nursing staff on sterile techniques, infection control, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and other clinical procedures.
<Requirements>
- Valid RN or LPN license in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience in healthcare settings such as long-term care, assisted living, hospital medicine, or acute care units.
- Extensive clinical experience including Skilled Nursing Facilities
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (PCC), familiarity with medical documentation standards is essential.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology related to patient assessment and treatment planning.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental delays, or behavioral health needs preferred.
- Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, specimen collection/processing, and sterile technique procedures confidently.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, family coaching sessions, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices in infection control to ensure patient privacy and safety at all times.
