We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Weekend Day-Shift to join our team at Karen‘s Place! This energetic role is perfect for individuals who thrive on making a positive difference in the lives of others, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for those we serve. As a Weekend Day Shift Caregiver, you will play a vital part in promoting independence and well-being through personalized care and attentive assistance to our 5 residents. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in caregiving, medication management, and activity support will shine.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
  • Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care strategies to promote safety and engagement
  • Provide compassionate personal care within assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning resident areas and common spaces
  • Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document care activities, observations, and incidents accurately
  • Support residents’ social engagement by facilitating activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
  • Operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist residents with transfers or repositioning
  • Drive residents when necessary for appointments or outings in compliance with safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience in senior care, assisted living, or long-term care environments with a focus on resident safety and comfort
  • Strong knowledge of ADLs assistance, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care techniques
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and professionalism using behavior management strategies
  • Valid driver’s license for transportation duties when required
  • Experience with group home settings or personal care homes is a plus
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures, cleaning protocols, and basic first aid practices
