Weekend Live-In Nanny

A warm, kind, and down-to-earth family based in Soho, New York City is seeking an experienced weekend live-in nanny to care for their child. The family spends weekends both in NYC and at their upstate New York home (approximately two hours from Manhattan), and the nanny should be comfortable traveling with the family between NYC, upstate NY, and for domestic or international trips as needed.

This is a long-term position for a professional, engaging, and energetic nanny who enjoys spending active time with children and can seamlessly integrate into a well-run household. The home is fully staffed with a housekeeper and assistant, so the role is entirely child-focused.

Responsibilities include providing attentive, thoughtful care for the child throughout the weekend, planning engaging, age-appropriate activities and outings, supporting morning routines and weekend structure, assisting with evening routines and bedtime, managing child-related items for weekend and travel, and maintaining a calm, organized, and positive environment.

The schedule is live-in from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. Typical arrival on Friday is around 11:00 AM, though occasionally later around 3:00 PM depending on the family's schedule. Beginning in the fall, the Friday start time will generally be mid-afternoon after school. Departure on Sunday is typically around 6:00 PM, with approximately 20–30 hours of active childcare per weekend. Downtime is expected when the child is resting or with parents, though the nanny should remain present and available in the home throughout the weekend. Some weekends may not be required due to family travel; however, weekend hours and rate will be guaranteed.

The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, and genuinely enjoys engaging with children, confident managing morning routines and bedtime, and comfortable with live-in weekend care and domestic/international travel. Candidates must be discreet, professional, and emotionally intelligent, able to maintain complete professionalism and privacy in a high-profile environment, hold a valid passport, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.

This is a live-in position offering $550–$650 per day (gross), commensurate with experience, with guaranteed weekend hours regardless of travel or schedule changes. Private accommodations will be provided during the live-in period. The family would ideally like to have someone in place by early April.
