Weekend Nanny / Special Needs Companion | Hewlett, NY | $40/hr Sat & Sun, 9:30am-7:30pm | Autism Exp

A loving family in Hewlett is seeking an energetic, confident, and adventurous weekend nanny primarily focused on the care of their 5-year-old child on the autism spectrum. This role is perfect for someone active, creative, and capable of planning fun sensory-friendly outings while confidently taking charge of the child’s care and safety.

Schedule

• Saturdays & Sundays consistently and reliably
• 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM

Compensation

• $40/hour
• Guaranteed 20 hours

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care and support for a 5-year-old child on the autism spectrum
• Plan and facilitate engaging outings including parks, beaches, Adventureland, sensory-friendly activities, and local adventures
• Create fun, active, and stimulating days tailored to the child’s interests and sensory needs
• Support communication, emotional regulation, and transitions throughout the day
• Maintain safety while encouraging independence, confidence, and exploration
• Drive the child to outings, activities, and community adventures
• Work collaboratively with parents to provide consistency and structure

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children with autism or developmental differences
• Confident managing solo outings and community activities is required
• Energetic, proactive, and highly engaging
• Strong leadership skills with a calm and patient demeanor
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Comfortable driving regularly and transporting child safely
• Looking for someone genuinely passionate about creating meaningful experiences for children with special needs

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
