Job Summary:

The Weld Mill Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules for all weld mills to maximize efficiency and raw material yield. This role involves generating weekly production and slitting schedules, ensuring proper raw material usage, and closely monitoring inventory and mill activity to support on-time order fulfillment. The Scheduler collaborates with Purchasing and outside processors to ensure material availability, investigates process losses, and performs system transactions to maintain accurate production records


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates with Purchasing personnel in the coordination of raw material flow for current schedules.
  • Generates weekly slitting schedules to an outside processor. Communicate if slit steel will not arrive in time.
  • Generate individual welding instructions and raw material requirements for each order on the schedules using the computer program provided.
  • Inputs raw material chemistries to ensure proper application to orders.
  • Performs batch transactions for coils.
  • Monitors strip inventory daily, to ensure accuracy
  • Generates weekly mill schedules for all the weld mills.
  • Closes Weld and Slit batches, investigates large process loss.
  • Monitors daily activity on the weld mills, to ensure completion of the necessary orders.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of all office equipment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Power point outlook word)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Good attitude and friendly demeanor
