Job Duties:
- Weld barrel nuts onto flat bar and square tubing frames with high-quality standards.
- Perform MIG/TIG welding on carbon steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Set up and adjust welding machines for proper voltage, wire feed, gas flow, and technique.
- Operate a cold-cut saw to accurately cut square tubing and flat bar to specified lengths.
- Use a punch machine to notch flat bar according to drawings and templates.
- Operate a rolling machine to roll sheet metal bands to required radiuses.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and cut lists.
- Use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Inspect welded parts to ensure structural integrity and quality compliance.
- Assist in material handling and staging of components.
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
All applicants must complete a liability waiver, attend a safety briefing, and perform a weld test. Background checks and drug testing are mandatory for all new employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Accepted Substitutions:
- Completion of a basic welding training program from a trade school, community college, or certified training center may be accepted in lieu of the work experience on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Welding certification (AWS, NCCER)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
- Foundational knowledge of welding processes such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
- Understanding of weld quality standards (visual inspection, identifying defects)
- Ability to read simple blueprints, work instructions, and basic welding symbols
- Basic math and measurement skills (ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions/decimals)
- Ability to safely operate common shop tools and equipment (grinders, saws, clamps, hand tools)
- Understanding of basic safety practices including PPE use, hazard awareness, and safe equipment handling
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced welders and supervisors
- Ability to pass a basic weld skills assessment as part of the hiring process
- Strong communication, teamwork, & reliability
