Title: Welder
Pay Range: $26.57 - $32.18/hour + Bonus Program
- Minimum of 8+ years of welding and fabrication experience, minus applicable schooling or technical training.
Job Description
- Perform welding operations on a variety of housing shapes in all positions on limited types of material. Set up work with or without fixtures as required.
- Check own work for fit, quality, and accuracy.
- Work from shop orders, cutting lists, blueprints, and sketches. Tack units, verify proper dimensions, and complete final welds. Torch cut pieces when material is not pre-cut. Grind materials as required for proper fit and finish.
- Clean and maintain welding equipment including replacing welding wire, gas, liners, tips, nozzles, and related consumables. Report major maintenance or repair needs to Supervisor.
- Operate overhead cranes and hoists to position and move materials safely.
- Demonstrate strong blueprint reading, fabrication, and tape measure skills.
- Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
- Use all types of welding equipment including, but not limited to, MIG and TIG welders, hand tools, and power tools.
- Weld additional materials such as stainless steel and aluminum.
- Read blueprints and verify material type, gauge, and dimensions prior to fabrication.
- Use computer terminals and scanners/readers as required.
- Read, understand, and follow ISO Procedures, Instructions, and Forms as required.
- Cross-train in other work centers and departments as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8+ years of welding and fabrication experience, minus applicable schooling or technical training.
- Strong working knowledge of blueprint reading, fabrication processes, measurements, and welding techniques.
- Experience with MIG and TIG welding required.
Pay: $26.57 - $32.18 per hour
