This position is for our 2nd shift.

Job Overview:

As a Welder at Cortec, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal products. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints, setting up welding equipment, and executing high-quality welds to ensure the structural integrity and durability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications.
• Perform various types of welding, including MIG and TIG, on a variety of sheet metal materials.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including selecting appropriate tools and adjusting settings.
• Inspect and ensure the quality of welds, making any necessary adjustments to meet industry standards.
• Collaborate with team members, including fabricators and engineers, to achieve project goals.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following company policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Welder in the sheet metal industry.
• Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Knowledge of various metals and their welding characteristics.
• Familiarity with welding safety protocols.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Other:

• Requires physical ability to perform activities common to the welding trade including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or vocational training, plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in TIG and MIG production welding; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Depending on job level and customer requirements, outside welding certification(s) may be required. (AWS Certified Welder).
