Experienced Structural & Industrial Welder – W-2 Position

Powell Welding is seeking an experienced structural and industrial welder to join our growing team for commercial, industrial, and mining projects.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work in both shop and field environments.

This is NOT a pipeline welding position. We are looking for welders with experience in structural steel, industrial fabrication, steel erection support, and field installation work.

This is a W-2 employee position using company equipment — not a 1099 contractor or rig welder position.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW, MIG, and stick welding on structural steel and industrial projects
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and field layouts
• Fabricate and fit structural and miscellaneous steel components
• Assist with field installation and erection activities
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, plasma cutters, forklifts, and other shop equipment
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Work independently while also contributing effectively within a crew environment
• Follow OSHA safety requirements and Powell Welding safety standards
• Produce clean, quality welds that meet project specifications and customer expectations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural and/or industrial welding
• Strong fitting and fabrication skills
• Ability to read blueprints and perform layout work
• Experience working in industrial or commercial construction environments
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Ability to travel and work varying schedules depending on project demands
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
• Welding certifications required
• OSHA, forklift, rigging, or aerial lift certifications are a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
