Purpose of the position
Process and fabricate raw materials to create and build bespoke parts / products from Aluminum and mild steel as directed. Managing all tasks during the fabrication process, from start to finish, through to completion in production.
Day-to-day operations
-
Machining fabrication materials and components.
-
Cutting and welding with a variety of processes.
-
Collaborate work with metal sheets and apply various insulation materials.
-
Evaluate all engineering drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications.

Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly.
-
Perform work with help of various hand and power tools.
-
Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.
-
Maintain a safe & clean workstation and perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.

Adhering to all relevant health and safety standards and training protocols.
-
Attending any relevant training sessions as directed by line manager.
-
Other ad hoc duties as and when required and providing essential cover when other members of team are on leave.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
-
5 GCSEs (Grade C & above) or equivalent including Mathematics.

Recognised certification in MIG or TIG welding
EXPERIENCE
Essential
-
4-5 years’ on-the-job experience, working within the same role or equivalent.
SPECIALIST SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES

Solid fabrication background in Sheetmetal.

Ability to work on their own, as well as part of a team.

Helpful and approachable with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Knowledge of engineering.

Ability to work with your hands.
OTHER

Have a current full driving licence.

Must have full access to transport to, from and during work.
Location: Lakenheath factory (Suffolk)
Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)
