Job Title: Welder Fabricator (Heavy Equipment / Industrial Fabrication Experience Preferred)

Pay: $24 – $38 per hour DOE
WorkSteer is seeking a skilled and dependable Welder Fabricator to join a busy industrial shop in Salt Lake City, UT. This position supports the repair, modification, and fabrication of heavy-duty equipment, engine components, and power generation systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced shop environment and be comfortable fabricating, repairing, and modifying metal components used in diesel equipment, generators, and industrial machinery. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and reliability.
Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel and aluminum components
Fabricate, modify, and repair parts for heavy equipment, generators, and diesel systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
Cut, fit, and assemble metal components using shop equipment (grinders, torches, saws, etc.)
Assist with structural repairs, brackets, mounts, and custom fabrication projects
Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength, and safety standards are met
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all shop safety procedures and company policies
Collaborate with mechanics and technicians to support equipment repairs
2+ years of welding and fabrication experience (industrial or heavy equipment preferred)
Proficiency in MIG welding required (TIG/Stick experience a plus)
Ability to read blueprints and fabricate from drawings or verbal instruction
Experience working with heavy-gauge steel and structural components
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver’s license required
Must be able to pass a drug screening
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
