Duties
- Assist experienced welders with preparing materials, tools, and equipment for welding tasks.
- Learn and perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and FIT Structural Steel <LOCATION> welding techniques under supervision.
- Support fabrication activities including cutting, grinding, bending, and assembling sheet metal components.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and rigging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
- Assist with pipe threading, ductwork installation, machining tasks, soldering, and mechanical assembly as needed.
Requirements
- Construction site experience or exposure to manufacturing environments is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and basic math skills for measurements.
- Willingness to learn welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, plasma cutting, and <LOCATION> welding standards.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as pipe threading and assembly.
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously on construction sites or manufacturing floors.
