Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder / Metal Fabricator / Assistant Shop Supervisor to join our dynamic hand and guardrail fabrication team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn how to run our fabrication team, while supporting the shop operations, making sure projects are done in a timely manner and overseeing quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on welding expertise and leadership skills to ensure efficient production and safe work practices. This position is vital in delivering high-quality metal hand and guardrail that meet project specifications and industry standards, all while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas).
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate components according to specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and power tools to ensure accurate cuts, fits, and welds.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by utilizing hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment effectively.
- Support shop operations by assisting with project planning, scheduling tasks, and supervising team members when acting as Assistant Shop Supervisor.
- Assist in training new team members on welding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with shop foreman and fabrication team to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements or safety improvements.
Qualifications
- Must have guardrail fabrication experience minimum of three years required . Strong background in welding and fabrication.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and schematics interpretation skills.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to fabrication dimensions, and project estimations.
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to welding and fabrication work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments on construction sites or manufacturing floors.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively. Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
