Welder - MIG/TIG

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder specializing in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding operations on various metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, manufacturing tasks, and custom fabrications. Duties

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on diverse materials including sheet metal, ductwork, and pipe components following detailed blueprints and schematics.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to prepare materials for welding and verify dimensions.
  • Operate fabrication machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and press brakes to shape and cut metals according to project specifications.
  • Conduct rigging, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly tasks as needed for construction or manufacturing projects.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to OSHA standards and company safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members on complex fabrication projects involving blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical assembly.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques.
  • Strong construction site experience with knowledge of building codes such as ASME standards.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and schematics accurately.
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures including crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely.
  • Familiarity with pipe threading techniques and ductwork fabrication processes.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to machining, soldering, assembly processes, and the use of schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential in fabrication tasks.
  • Experience working on construction sites or manufacturing environments involving scaffolding or forklift operation is a plus.
