Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Welder - Sub Arc/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing advanced welding and fabrication tasks on various metal components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction sites, blueprint reading, and a strong understanding of welding techniques such as FCAW, and Sub arc welding. The position requires mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. Responsibilities
- Perform Sub Arc (submerged arc welding) and other welding processes including FCAW, and <LOCATION> welding on diverse metal structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and fabrication procedures.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Execute assembly tasks
- Perform rigging and crane operations when necessary for moving heavy materials or equipment on-site or in the shop.
- Maintain quality standards by inspecting welds using calipers, micrometers, and visual checks; ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving machining, soldering, plasma cutting, assembly, and mechanical knowledge applications.
- Follow safety guidelines at all times; participate in safety meetings and maintain a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site welding or manufacturing environments with a focus on fabrication.
- Proficiency in FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, technical drawings, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, forklift (preferred), and machining equipment safely.
- Knowledge of rigging procedures including crane operation for lifting heavy materials.
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, and ASME codes & standards.
- Good communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
