Job Purpose:

Performs a variety of welding to complete structural repair and fabrication on various vehicles and equipment. Designs and fabricates metal components and structures to improve existing designs and reliability. Inspects and performs routine maintenance on light, heavy and specialized equipment.

1.

Can make structural repairs in various automotive vehicles, design metal components and structures to help improve the previous design and functionality of parts, and perform routine maintenance on all equipment.

2.

Know basic welding practices, concepts and safety regulations, as well as having some industry experience.

3.

Know and uunderstand fully the types of welding such as arc, MIG and TIG welding, basic gas welding procedures, common tools, equipment and the types of steel.

4.

Aware of common hazards, safety precautions and regulations.

5.

Fluent in the interpretation of blueprints and sketches

6.

Capable of successfully planning out their daily work schedule. This includes approximate estimations of how long certain welding jobs will take

7.

Auto welders rely on logic and a sound understanding of welding fundamentals to make necessary repairs

Description

1.

Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and 3 – 5 years of responsible welding experience.

2.

Basic Shipping Knowledge.

Basic English Communication – Verbal & Written.
