Welder Trainer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder proficient in MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA process to join our training team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding with the ability to work with various materials. Desirable is expertise in teaching and demonstrating those skills or open to learning how to do this effectively.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a specialist welding and engineering training business, predominantly supporting the rail industry by training welders to perform high-quality corrosion repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of rolling stock and components.

As a Tecforce welder trainer, you will be developing the current, and the next generation of welders at Tecforce and expanded industry all of whom will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and integrity of rail assets.

Working at our Derby workshop, you will be teaching the practical aspects of varying degrees of projects ranging from light fabrication to complex welding solutions that support safe operations and high engineering standards.

You will join an experienced and supportive team with a wide range of welding and teaching experience. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where knowledge is shared, development is encouraged, and people are supported to grow their careers.

This role offers excellent variety, with the opportunity to work with current industry welders and new trainees. There is the opportunity to develop in the role and as the training business grows, so will the opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG, MAG, TIG, and MMA practical welding training
  • Perform fabrication, dressing, cutting and drilling training
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication processes
  • Dominantly practical delivery- and be able to deliver the above skills to a high standard, be able to explain how the process works and the benefits and drawbacks of each process.
  • Help develop new training solutions and course content for new customers or qualifications
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve any welding-related issues

About you

  • Experience (approx. 10+ years) as a fabricator/welder
  • Can perform all positional welding in all processes
  • Experience MIG/MAG and TIG and MMA

· Experience in Flux Core desirable

  • Must hold or be open to completing the CSWIP 3.1 and CSWIP welder trainer qualification
  • You would also be required to successfully complete and maintain all deliverable welder qualifications
  • Team player that wants to develop within a company setting
  • Someone who enjoys the challenge and wants to help the training business grow
  • Capable in working to drawings & following technical procedures.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • A full driving licence
