Summary
As a Welder/Fabricator in our manufacturing facility, your primary responsibility is to ensure the structural integrity and quality of our products through the precise and skilled application of welding techniques. You will be welding, doing metal fabrication, and interpreting blueprints daily. This role involves working with a variety of metals to construct and repair components and structures, ensuring precision, safety, and quality standards are met. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- MIG Welding Proficiency: Your core competency lies in MIG welding, where you'll be expected to weld steel parts with precision and consistency. This entails the use of a MIG welding machine that feeds a continuous wire electrode while shielding the weld area with an inert gas.
- Aluminum Welding Expertise: When the project calls for aluminum components, you'll seamlessly transition to either MIG or TIG welding techniques, depending on the specific requirements. This versatile skill set ensures the flexibility needed to meet varied production demands.
- Fulfill daily production requirements assigned by department supervisor or production manager.
- Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying welding techniques.
- Fabricate metal components using machines such as shears, brakes, rollers, and presses.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural bond and soundness.
- May be required to prepare the materials and set up welding jigs, fixtures or robot before performing the weld.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Maintain activity logs and or production orders.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the day and record them.
- Performs work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Follow all safety guidelines for set up, use, and shut down of any welding equipment daily.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to use and read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform a Lap Weld, T Fillet Weld, and Butt Weld in the flat position and vertical down position.
- Adapt to hot/cold environment, humidity, dust, and noise.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to use a hand truck or pallet jack.
- Forklift experience.
