Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder / Fabricator to join our fabrication workshop team. This role will focus on producing structural steel components to meet bespoke project specifications and ensuring the highest level of quality, accuracy and compliance.

You’ll work closely with our fabrication, design and site teams to support both shop production and installation preparation for projects ranging from single structural beams to complete bespoke steel buildings and reinforced concrete frame components.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding and fabrication of structural steel in line with detailed engineering drawings and specifications
• Prepare materials including marking, cutting, drilling, chamfering and edge preparation
• Ensure weld quality, finish and dimensional accuracy meets specification and company standards
• Work efficiently in our fabrication workshop and support site installation preparation
• Collaborate closely with the design and installation teams to achieve project timelines
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace in line with company safety policies
• Assist with quality inspections and rectify defects as required
• Contribute to continuous improvement of fabrication techniques and workshop processes

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a MIG Welder and structural steel fabricator
• Strong ability to read and work from technical and detailed drawings
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
• Good understanding of structural tolerances and welding standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop environment
• Experience with industrial fabrication equipment and standard workshop machinery
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings and welding symbols
• Time Management

Qualifications & Certifications (Desirable)

• Welding qualifications (e.g. ISO 9606 MIG welding certification)
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Welding & Fabrication or equivalent
• CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with BS EN 1090 / CE marking requirements for structural steel
• Forklift or overhead crane certification

Pay: £14.50-£15.50 per hour
