Welder/Fabricator

CHARLIE ORNAMENTAL LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic fabrication and installation team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and installing metal components with precision and efficiency, ensuring all projects meet safety standards and quality specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects including railings, fences, window guards, doors, gates, structural beams, and custom steel assemblies, utilizing a variety of welding techniques and fabrication skills. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful completion of complex fabrication projects, structural installations, and custom metalwork for commercial and residential applications.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and install components and assemblies.
• Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) techniques to join metals according to industry standards.
• Fabricate and install railings, fences, window guards, doors, gates, stair systems, and structural steel components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
• Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring devices to ensure proper fit and tolerances.
• Fabricate structural beams, supports, frames, and custom metal assemblies following project specifications and safety standards.
• Operate rigging equipment safely for material handling, installation, and assembly tasks on-site or in the workshop.
• Assemble and install fabricated parts using mechanical knowledge, schematics, and assembly instructions while adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform field installations of fabricated products, ensuring accurate alignment, secure anchoring, and professional workmanship.
• Conduct grinding, cutting, drilling, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and plasma cutting as required for specific fabrication projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by following safety guidelines related to construction site practices and fabrication shop operations.

Skills

• Proven experience working on construction sites and in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of site safety procedures.
• Proficiency in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and FCAW welding techniques is a plus.
• Strong fabrication and installation experience involving railings, fences, window guards, doors, gates, and structural steel.
• Ability to read complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and fabrication equipment for metalworking tasks.
• Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of rigging, structural installation, machining operations, and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication codes, standards, and construction safety practices.
• Strong basic math skills for measurements, layout work, and fabrication calculations.
• Experience with plasma cutting machines, press brake machines, grinding equipment, and structural steel fabrication is desirable.
