Welder/Fabricator - TIG

Position Summary

The Aerospace TIG Welder is responsible for performing precision TIG welding on aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and industry quality standards. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to strict safety and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminums.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Set up and operate TIG welding equipment and related fabrication tools.
  • Prepare materials for welding including cleaning, grinding, fitting, and alignment.
  • Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and specifications.
  • Maintain weld quality to meet customer, NADCAP, AWS, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Complete required documentation, inspection records, and traceability paperwork accurately.
  • Work closely with quality, engineering, and production teams to resolve weld or fit-up issues.
  • Perform rework and repairs as required by inspection or engineering direction.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and properly use PPE and welding safety equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to welding processes and productivity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years TIG welding experience, preferably in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to pass aerospace weld certification tests.
  • Strong understanding of weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience welding thin-gauge and precision aerospace components.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, AWS, or NADCAP standards preferred.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform fine precision welding work for extended durations
  • Good vision, including close-up detail work

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace structural or tube welding
  • Orbital welding experience
  • Experience with titanium and exotic alloys
  • Familiarity with precision sheet metal fabrication
  • Current AWS or aerospace welding certifications

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
