Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing various welding, fabrication, and fitting tasks to produce high-quality components and assemblies in accordance with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with diverse welding techniques, and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Fabricate components from sheet metal, pipe, ductwork, or other materials using hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
- Fit welded parts accurately using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and rigging techniques.
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining tools for fabrication tasks.
- Assemble fabricated parts according to schematics and assembly instructions.
- Use crane or forklift as needed for material handling on construction sites or manufacturing floors.
- Ensure compliance with ASME codes & standards and safety regulations during all operations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, fabrication, rigging, and site safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing settings involving welding and fabrication.
- Proficiency in MIG welding experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment.
- Knowledge of rigging, mechanical systems, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to welding and fabrication work.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Ability to operate forklifts or cranes safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues effectively.
