Welder/Fitter

Location: Auburn Hills MI 48326 Position Type: Contract to Hire Pay Rate $25/hr with Benefits + $1 shift premium Night Shift 4:30 PM to 1:00 AM Summary : Lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and building and weld parts by performing the following duties. Education And/Or Experience: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training Experience in Blue Print Reading; MIG Welding. Knowledge of overhead cranes, Hi-lo, Pallet Jack and other related equipment required to perform the job function Knowledge of safety precautions in the Manufacturing environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Knowledge of and ability to operate MIG, TIG, and Stick welders. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Positions and clamps workpieces together or assembles them in jig or fixture. Conduct preventative maintenance on weld equipment. Keep work areas clean, maintain 5S and safety. Other duties and projects may be assigned
