Welder/Fitter

1st shift hours 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday

2nd shift hours are 4:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will contribute to the successful completion of diverse projects, including pipe systems, HVAC units, fire sprinkler fittings, and pipeline assemblies. This position offers an engaging environment where safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork are paramount.

Duties

  • Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, and other welding processes according to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble components.
  • Fit and assemble metal parts using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and pipe threading equipment to ensure precise alignment.
  • Cut, bend, solder, and join metal pipes or tubing for plumbing, HVAC systems, or pipeline projects following ASME codes & standards.
  • Conduct rigging operations for lifting and positioning heavy materials safely on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintain quality control by inspecting welds with calipers and other measurement tools; adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Assist with routine maintenance of equipment such as welding machines, power tools, and hand tools to ensure optimal performance.

Skills

  • Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, TIG, and <LOCATION> welding as required by project specifications.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with confidence.
  • Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pipe threading, tube bending, soldering, and assembly processes.
  • Familiarity with construction site environments and experience working on manufacturing or pipeline projects.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics interpretation, and rigging equipment safely.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems installation or maintenance is a plus; understanding of ASME codes & standards is highly desirable.
