Welders - First Shift

Under general supervision, operates, and adjusts, gas and electric welding equipment and sheet metal fabrication equipment. Primarily work from custom drawings, sketches or instruction, perform ordinary welding operations with hand arc or auto wire feed equipment, using welder settings and type of rod as directed. Tanks are custom built to order and Welders are expected to preform fabrication tasks in addition to; cleaning and grinding work as necessary to prepare surface for welding. Previous work experience and training with code vessels, sub-arc, CNC Plasma Cutter or shell rolling a plus. Must be timely, accountable, reliable, and ready for a challenging workload.

Repair and salvage castings of a limited variety of metals, prepare by cleaning, chipping, grinding or wire brushing. Preheat if necessary. Build up metal to surrounding surface and smooth by grinding. Cut out materials using hand or motor driven torch or band saw. Use and make standard set ups for power brake, punch press, squaring shears, drill press and spot welder for use in sheet metal fabrication. Practice all safety rules, maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition. Report questionable items to supervisor.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
