Qualification & Experience
- BE in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering
- ADNOC project experience is mandatory
- Strong experience in welding engineering, QA/QC and inspection activities
Job Responsibilities
- Full knowledge of welding quality, inspection, testing and procedure qualification requirements
- Identify required WPS as per Pipeline Schedule, Pipeline MTO and Piping MTO in line with project specifications
- Selection of welding consumables and review of test certificates as per project and company standards
- Conduct WPQT and WQT in accordance with project specifications and international standards
- Identify and coordinate mechanical and corrosion testing for WPQT for pipelines, piping, tanks, vessels, cladding and structural works
- Extensive experience in welding procedure qualification for CS, LTCS, SS, SSS, DSS, SDSS, Alloy, Nickel Alloy, Cu-Ni, Titanium and cladding
- Expertise in dissimilar metal welding procedures and weld overlay cladding
- Preparation and finalization of WPS, PQR and WPQR
- Planning and selection of welding equipment and maintenance of calibration records
- Welder qualification, performance monitoring and repair rate control
- Root cause analysis of weld repairs and implementation of corrective actions
- Training and toolbox talks for welders and welding inspectors
- Productivity improvement planning for fabrication and field welding
- Welding consumable estimation for pipelines, piping, structural and tankage works
- Preparation and maintenance of welding documentation and records
- Knowledge of NDT activities including UT, MT, PT, PMI and Ferrite testing
- Preparation and qualification of welding repair procedures
