Welding Engineer – ASME Code Projects
Location: Sharjah, UAE
Prestige Engineering L.L.C. is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Welding Engineer with strong expertise in ASME and AWS requirements for Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Piping, and Structural Fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently prepare, manage, and control welding documentation for ASME-certified equipment.
- Prepare and review Weld Maps, WPS, PQR, WPQ/Welder Qualification Records, and all related welding documentation.
- Submit welding documentation to clients, address comments, and obtain final approvals.
- Coordinate with production, QC, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with project and code requirements.
- Plan and conduct job-specific audits in accordance with project specifications and ITP requirements.
- Ensure effective implementation and compliance with ASME, AWS, and customer requirements throughout the organization.
- Support customer audits, Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) audits, and accreditation audits.
- Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
- Promote continual improvement and a strong quality culture within the organization.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Welding, or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge and interpretation of ASME Codes, AWS Standards, and welding-related specifications.
- Proven experience in an ASME-certified fabrication shop involved in Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pressure Piping, and Structural Steel fabrication.
- Experience in preparation, review, and control of welding documentation.
- Familiarity with welding processes, NDT, PWHT, material traceability, and quality control requirements.
- Good communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
