Job Summary
The Welding Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting welding activities during plant operations and turnaround projects to ensure compliance with approved procedures, international standards, and client specifications in refinery and petrochemical facilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform visual inspection of welding activities during fabrication and maintenance works
- Verify compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and welding procedures
- Inspect fit-up, pre-heating, welding parameters, and post-weld activities
- Coordinate and monitor NDT activities and review results
- Identify weld defects and ensure corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and project specifications
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain QA/QC documentation
- Coordinate with maintenance teams, QA/QC, and client representatives during plant and turnaround activities
Mandatory Requirements
- B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Valid Welding Inspector certification: CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Welding Inspector in Plant / Turnaround projects (Refinery / Petrochemical)
- Multidiscipline ASNT/PCN NDT Level II certification (valid)
- Previous SABIC experience preferred
